As part of Cancer Research UK’s Retail & Ecommerce Growth Strategy, we opened our first Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in 2023, and are proud to have recently opened a second, based in Fleet (Surrey) which is even bigger at 23,000 sq foot.
We’re looking for a proactive Warehouse Assistant with good brand awareness and interest in fashion/textiles to join our new team of 12. You will support c.100 shops and superstores by sorting and ticketing end-of-line and donated textile and fashion stock before dispatching them to our stores while ensuring to maximise their income value towards our life-saving mission. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the team working together to support our shops and stores, drivers, and onsite E-commerce Marketplace team ensuring all stock processing and fulfilment is delivered effectively and efficiently as scheduled.

What will I be doing?
* Manually sorting, categorising, ticketing, and processing donated and End-of-Line fashion and textile stock to meet our shops’ ongoing requirements.
* Assisting in maintaining stock levels for supply and informing the regional Distribution Centre (RDC) Supervisor of stock availability.
* Preparing customer orders for dispatch (this includes lifting and moving stock of different weights and sizes where appropriate).
* Picking, packing, and sorting sold items with the dispatch department.
* Meeting daily dispatch targets.
* Dealing with the stock deliveries into the RDC and dispatching stock to our retail drivers or 3rd parties.
* Maintaining safe and effective standards of storage and stock movement in the processing area while ensuring health and safety policies are adhered to.
* Minimising stock loss through accurate selection of fashion and textile stock for the appropriate shop where we will maximise the value of the item and monitor waste items.
* Monitoring levels of equipment and consumables for the warehouse process (e.g. boxes, hangers, labels, bag drop bags etc) and informing the RDC Supervisor to arrange replenishment.
* Using brand awareness to understand and ensure the correct stock categories, propositions, and sales value are delivered.
What are you looking for?
* Warehousing, logistics, or retail stock processing background within fast-paced environments.
* A good brand awareness with an interest in fashion and/or textiles (you do not need work experience in this space).
* Ability to work accurately under pressure ensuring to meet targets and standards.
* Ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with internal teams.
* Proven ability to work on own initiative and assess priorities.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
* Flexible and willing to perform other tasks outside of your role to support the team when required.
