Davenport House Surgery is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join and enhance their current administration team.
You will be working to provide much-needed reception support to the multi-disciplinary team. You will need to be able to work within a team environment but also to use your own initiative and work on your own when necessary.
You will ideally need a good working knowledge of NHS focused software, such as EMIS. You will be dealing with patients and staff, as well as outside agencies, accessing the service both on the telephone and face to face at times; therefore, you will need to have good communication skills.
The principal duties include:
* Greeting and directing patients as they arrive for appointments.
* Dealing with telephone requests and enquiries.
* Processing repeat prescription requests.
* Making appointments for practice patients with the appropriate Health Care professional.
* Processing requests for home visits.
* Taking and delivering messages.
* Collection of fees for non-NHS work.
* Updating patient computer records as required.
* Informing patients of the results of tests and investigations.
* Testing the clarity of the telephone message in accordance with Practice procedures.
* Securing the practice premises and setting the alarm at close of day in accordance with Practice procedures.
* Receiving specimens from patients and batch delivery to collection point.
* Other one-off essential duties deemed necessary to ensure the smooth running of the Practice.

We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community.
We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals, who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service and have the following attributes:
* GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Customer Service experience.
* Call centre experience.
* General computer skills.
* Medical Receptionist and EMIS Web experience is an advantage but not essential.

Experience:
* Customer service: 1 year (preferred).
* Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred).
Language:
* English (required).
Licence/Certification:
* Driving Licence (preferred).
