Technical Staffing Resources (TSR) are the in-house agency and master vendor for KBR who are a leading global engineering, construction, and services company.

We are looking to recruit a Test Analyst on a 12 month contract based in Warrington.

Responsibilities
Test Planning and Strategy:
4. Construct Master Test Plans based on Organisational Test Strategy based on project requirements and specifications e.g. for workflow deployment using Intelligent Business Process management tools, including integration with other data sources and applications.
5. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define testing scope and objectives.
6. Identify and prioritize test cases to ensure maximum test coverage for Functional and/or Non-Functional Test: Functional Test: System Test (ST), System Integration Test (SIT), User Acceptance Test (UAT), infrastructure Test (IT) Non-Functional Test: Load Test (LT), Security/Pen Test (PT), Operational Acceptance Test (OAT).
Test Execution and Reporting:
7. Execute Functional and/or Non-Functional test cases manually and/or using automated testing tools. Functional Test: System Test (ST), System Integration Test (SIT), User Acceptance Test (UAT), infrastructure Test (IT) Non-Functional Test: Load Test (LT), Security/Pen Test (PT), Operational Acceptance Test (OAT).
8. Record test results and document defects, ensuring clear and concise communication to development teams.
9. Monitor and track defects to resolution, ensuring timely closure and retesting as necessary.
10. Generate test reports and metrics to provide insights into product quality and test coverage.
Test Automation:
11. Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
12. Identify opportunities for automation within the testing framework and collaborate with developers to implement automated testing solutions.
Quality Assurance and Process Improvement:
13. Conduct peer reviews and provide feedback on test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
14. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
15. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and quality assurance.
16. Support Test readiness reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
17. Work closely with development teams to understand product functionality and requirements.
18. Collaborate with QA leads, business analysts, and project managers to ensure alignment on testing priorities and timelines.
19. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Experience / Skills
25. Proven experience as a Test Analyst or similar role, with a minimum of 5/6 years in software testing.
26. Thoroughness and attention to detail for identifying bugs and ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
27. Strong understanding of software testing methodologies like V Model methodology, Agile, Hybrid, including manual and automated testing techniques like SCRUM, Kanban, DevOps.
28. Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques, tools and frameworks (e.g. Azure DevOps, JIRA, HPALM, Selenium, Junit, Cucumber, CI/CD, SoapUI, POSTMAN).
29. Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python).
30. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex systems and identify potential areas of improvement.
31. Detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
32. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
33. Support the engagement-with and contribute to the work of cross-functional teams to ensure that customer and user needs are being met throughout the deliverable/scope of work.
34. Understanding of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements e.g. GDPR for data privacy
35. Presentation of complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences when engaging with colleagues, users/customers, suppliers and partners.
36. Application of creative or innovative thinking and design practises in identifying solutions that will deliver value for the benefit of the customer/stakeholder.
37. Be able to work with minimal levels of supervision.
38. Sharing knowledge and experience in own specialism to help others.
39. Demonstrates good organisational skills giving the ability to deliver to timeframes and estimates.
40. Projects within the Civil Nuclear Sector.
41. Communications and Information Systems (CIS) delivery projects.
Qualifications
42. Incorporated Engineer or equivalent
43. Certification in Testing Methodology e.g. ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) and/or SCRUM Practitioner Certification
44. CSTP (Certified Software Test Professional)
