Your newpany Due to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking for a part-time Culture Officer on a temporary basis to join the Council. This job will involve oversight of the BCC’s Enterprise Zone Funded Cultural Action Areas grant programme, managed by BCC’s Culture Service. Cultural Action Areas will play a major role in driving place-based economic recovery by re-animating high streets and local centres with a diversified cultural and heritage offer, new uses for retail spaces and under-utilised buildings, improved access tomunity activities alongside improvements to facilities.
Your new role The Cultural Development team within Birmingham City Council is recruiting a part-time culture officer on a temporary basis. You will supportmissioning for arts and culture programmes across Birmingham. You will work to deliver cultural programmes across the City. In your role as Culture Change Officer, you will work with artists, arts and cultural organisations to develop and monitor cultural programmes. You will be responsible for developing and monitoring the proposals, funding and performance of these programmes. In addition to this, you will also support the development of funding streams to support the programmes.
This is a part-time job (for up to 20 hours) with flexibility to choose the days you work.
What you'll need to succeed In this role, you will need project experience as well as experience of connectingmunities, diversity and accessibility. An interest and passion for cultural programmes would also be advantageous. You will need experience assessing grant applications and monitoring funding criteria. Successful candidates will have strongmunication and presentation skills, good IT skills, and an eye for detail.
