The job itself
East Riding Pension Fund (the Fund), administered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, is looking to recruit an Assistant Pension Manager who will be responsible for managing the Data Employer and Governance Team and the Digital Solutions Team. This includes oversight of the Fund's training provision, Monthly Data Collection, Member Data for Valuation, Data Cleansing and Annual Benefit Statements along with the administration software platform and cyber security requirements in conjuction with the Council's IT service.
The team
The Fund, based in Goole, administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for the four unitary Authorities in the region (East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire) plus over 328 other local employers and organisations. It has a membership of more than 129,000 active, deferred and pensioner members.
The candidate
The successful candidate will have significant experience in local government pensions practices, responsible for interpreting and assessing the impact of changes in legislation which will affect members and scheme employers. You will report directly to the Pensions Manager and assist with complex issues and decision making. You will have strong people management and leadership skills with specific responsibility for IT, publicity, employer liaison and training to staff, employers, members of the Pensions Committee and Local Pension Board. You will have an awareness of national pensions issues which will affect the administration of the scheme now and in the future.
