This substantive Band 7 post offers anexciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Nurse to workwithin the Specialist Palliative Care in the Community setting.
The post covers core hours of 09:00-17:00 and works across aseven day period, weekends and bank holidays are rostered across the team asper CDDFT policy. Core hours are 09:00-17:00.
This substantive Band 7 CNS post offers an excitingopportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Nurse to work withinSpecialist Palliative Care in the Health and Justice system/prisons healthcareservice and Community setting.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a consistent highquality specialist palliative care service with significant post registrationexperience including recent experience in palliative care you will need todemonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills and will need to becommitted to developing practice.
Working collaboratively as part of a team and as as anautonomous practitioner and build effective relationships with colleagues acrossthe MDT.
There are seven prisons in the North East, each one being slightlydifferent, and four where 24 hour care is provided. The Macmillan ClinicalNurse Specialist will work in partnership with the prison healthcare teams andprison staff to ensure patients are offered the care and support they need.
This exciting 'hybrid' post will work as part of theCommunuity SPC team and be based within this team.

The role of the Macmillan ClinicalNurse Specialist requires a suitably qualified and experienced nurse to be ableto utilise their extensive knowledge of palliative care and complex symptommanagement to offer high quality patient centred care, whilst suporting theirpeers and colleagues. Be able to have a positive impact on care and confidentlydeal with difficult and complex situations with sensitivity and compassion. Beconfident and influence change. Offer support and supervision to Band 6Palliative Care Nurses in the team.
The post holder will be required to work with the North EastHealth and Justice Team, supporting the quality and improvement of commissionedservices.
