The Senior Financial Advisor
We are looking for a high-calibre individual, diligent, resilient and technically strong with a broad understanding of financial planning, investment strategies and wealth management. Responsible for providing comprehensive financial advice to clients, the role will be benefitted by a strong communicator, with genuine, authentic listening and interpersonal skills. A curious and open mindset, paired with an empathetic nature will allow a questioning mind to really understand, assess and advise on the investment and wealth management needs of their clients to maximise their engagement and secure their financial future.
A genuine enthusiasm for the role is a critical value, and remaining informed of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology in order to provide relevant advice.
This is a senior-level position requiring a proven track-record of being instrumental in planning for a portfolio of clients with a diverse array of financial and wealth focused needs through the short, medium and long term.
Summary of main responsibilities
1. A dynamic, people-focussed negotiator, with the sales acumen to acquire profitable client relationships with high income/net worth clients and act as primary resource for investment communication.
2. Identifying clients’ needs and ensuring they are met by utilising investments or other relevant products in connection with client’s tax, legal and estate planning needs.
3. Maintains relationships with clients by proactively monitoring their portfolio.
4. Clear communication skills to provide high-level consultative, targeted financial advice and thoughtful solutions through an in-depth understanding and competency of investment products and services to deliver exceptional client experience.
5. Drive business results and acquire new assets both from existing client base and new client acquisition.
6. Conduct investment reviews with clients to validate their current investment objectives and prepare recommendations of appropriate investment products.
7. Advise clients on their overall balance sheet including asset allocation, investment management, wealth planning and credit needs.
8. Ensure that proposed solutions focus on enhancing the client’s experience, fulfil their objectives, solve problems, and identifies key opportunities.
9. Strictly adhere to all risk and control policies, regulatory guidelines and security measures.
Qualifications and experience
10. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or any other related discipline with excellent investment knowledge and excellent knowledge of financial planning and wealth management products and services.
11. Chartered or Certified status
12. Experience of advising business owners.
13. A minimum of 7 years’ sales and client management experience in a similar financial planning role with a demonstrated ability to manage a high-end portfolio.
Knowledge, skills and competencies
14. Demonstrated understanding of investments and trust concepts including but not limited to: asset allocation on structured portfolios, management portfolios, brokerage accounts, portfolio reviews, basic trust and estate products and identification of wealth planning opportunities.
15. Experience with and in-depth knowledge of the equity and fixed income markets and alternative investments including Private Equity and Real Estate.
16. Analytical ability in order to relate specific client asset situations to individual products.
