Main duties of the job
Neural Pathways is an award-winning neuro therapy service which takes pride in building bespoke rehabilitation programmes for clients living in the community. Neural Pathways is a rehabilitation service working the community, residential units and in their technological rehabilitation hub, which has an Exomotus 4 gait re-education trainer, an Armotus 4 upper limb robotic trainer, a C mill treadmill gait analysis and education tool, and an Omego plus bike for the use in all our neurological client conditions. Due to the expansion of our services, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team they will work with our clients in all settings to enable them to lead an active, meaningful and fulfilling future. We work with clients with a wide range of neurological conditions to include: Acquired brain injurySpinal Cord InjuryStrokeNeurological Degenerative conditions such as MND and MSPolytrauma clients to include orthopaedic injuriesUpper and lower limb amputees

Our clients predominantly have a medico legal case on going, but we also work with clients who fund their rehabilitation themselves. We are known for our client centred values and for offering highly skilled interprofessional rehabilitation. Our therapists are encouraged to think outside of the box, to work innovatively and holistically to deliver life changing sustainable outcomes.
You must be a great team player and be willing to go that extra mile for your clients and their family. A clean drivers’ licence and car is essential, and knowledge of the medicolegal system is desirable. You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar field
What you'll be working:
We can be flexible but you will work a total of hours per week.

What you'll be doing:
1. Use specialist knowledge to inform sound clinical judgements for complex neurological rehabilitation planning including undertaking initial client assessment that represent the inter-disciplinary team contribution.
2. Provide line management support and supervision to team members from a clinical and/or organisational perspective
3. Ensure team issues and concerns are identified and escalated to the senior team in a timely manner
4. Provide specialist differential diagnosis, clinical advice and therapy / management plans to clients with neurological impairments.
5. Act as an autonomous practitioner, work unsupervised using initiative.
6. Take responsibility for defined areas of clinical specialism, developing advanced skills and sharing knowledge and skills with others via mentorship, training and joint sessions.
7. Be accountable for own professional actions and recognise own professional boundaries, seeking advice as appropriate
8. Work within defined departmental and national protocols/policies and professional code of conduct to guarantee quality and safety
9. Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for the quality of own work and submit performance data as required

What you'll have:
10. A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist
11. Minimum of 3 to 5 years post graduate experience
12. Current registration with HCPC as a Occupational Therapist
13. Experience of working within a Neurological Care and Rehabilitation setting
