ICT Buyer / Supplier Manager **
We are working in partnership with a Local authority based in Preston who are looking to appoint a ICT Buyer / Supplier Manager.
8 month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.
Full time role. (37 hours)
Location – Preston, PR1. (Hybrid working 1 day a week in the office)
Rate of Pay - £206 - £260 per day. (Negotiable following a successful interview)
About the Role;
1. Support to the Digital Procurement team in delivering the Council's Digital requirements.
2. You will support a strategic approach to ICT Supplier Management that delivers innovative, cost-effective and quality products/services that meet the Council's priorities.
3. Be a key contact for senior managers and commissioners across the organisation, supporting the Procurement team in the planning and delivery of IT sourcing and supplier management activity to ensure key milestones are achieved.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
4. Provide leadership in sourcing activities for ICT requirements, ensuring effective, compliant routes to market for potential solutions and managing the end to end sourcing process for tactical requirements.
5. Develop routes to market for strategic requirements.
6. Support the development of the IT service management plans to ensure all sourcing and contract variation activity is identified, planned and can be delivered within the required timescales.
7. Ensure the governance arrangements for all supplier management activity complies with the Council's internal policies and regulations.
8. Undertake supplier relationship and quality management activity that ensures compliance with contracts and that any issues are identified, and appropriate action taken.
9. Identify, prioritise and mitigate risks with the Council's strategic ICT suppliers on an on-going basis.
10. Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders within the Council.
11. Provide advice and guidance on supplier issues to service managers and project managers.
Qualifications:
12. Essential - CIPS level 4 qualified or working towards; or equivalent degree, knowledge and experience.
