Job Overview:
The post holder will offer a full range of care and services to all customers ranging from housekeeping to full personal care. The post holder will ensure care and services are provided to Honeysuckle Home Care customers with compassion and at the highest quality in a way that complies with CQC requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Job:
* Deliver the highest quality of care through visiting customers daily or as required following their personal care plan which will include providing personal care and supporting them with day-to-day tasks, including getting in and out of bed, washing and bathing, help with dressing, assisting at mealtimes, preparing drinks, administering medication, and continence care.
* Complete house duties, which may include cooking, laundry, vacuuming, ironing, and other housework. In addition, customers may require support when attending medical appointments and collecting prescriptions, as well as offering home from hospital support.
* Support customers to live as independently as possible through a personalised tailored approach in all daily activities including personal care and exercise.
* Liaise with the Operations Director to ensure all responsibilities are delivered efficiently and effectively.
* Ensure family members are well informed and where required, liaise with GPs and friends.
* Deliver care while ensuring customers' right to dignity and privacy is maintained.
* Deliver care in a way that complies with all safeguarding policies and behaviours.
* Ensure the quality of care is delivered under the CQC framework of governance and compliance.
* Attend all relevant and compulsory training to continually improve skills and understanding.
* Attend all team meetings and one-to-one meetings for key communication and continued professional development.
* Act as a mentor for new Carers if appropriate.
Person Specific – Skill, Qualification & Experience:
* Qualified to or a commitment to work towards the qualification and credit framework (QCF) Level 2 – Honeysuckle Home Care will fund the QCF level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care.
* Good level of written and oral English.
* Use of mobile/app to manage schedules and keep in contact with the office.
* Able to accurately complete electronic daily logs to reflect care plans and follow medication instructions.
* Good knowledge of the local area.
* Friendly and personable.
* Personal presentation and hygiene should be to a high standard including cleanliness of uniform provided and ensuring jewellery, nails, and hair are in line with company policy.
* Understands professional boundaries of both customers and co-workers.
* Understands safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection laws to protect customers.
* Understanding of operating in a heavily regulated environment and within quality frameworks.
* Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and adaptable to meet different customer requirements.
* Has a passion and commitment for caring for customers.
* Acts as a role model through impeccable customer, owner, and team member service.
* Commitment to continually update knowledge and personal development.
* Full clean driving licence if required for the location with the ability to be mobile and travel in a timely fashion to our customers in the community.
