£149,500 plus Civil Service pension The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) performs a critical role, providing access to criminal records information through its disclosure service in England and Wales and making independent barring decisions to protect children and vulnerable people in the workplace. Our mission is to put safeguarding at the heart of everything we do, providing a faster, simpler and more accessible service which exceeds customer expectations. The DBS has achieved a step change improvement in the quality of service provided to its customers, its profile and awareness of the services it offers. We are developing an ambitious new strategy, in which DBS services are increasingly effective at safeguarding the public, are delivered efficiently, economically and provided equitably. Our technology platform is being upgraded and will play a vital role in enabling us to achieve our objectives. The CEO position is a high profile and challenging role and will involve working closely with the Chair and Board, the Home Office and other key Stakeholders to deliver a fully functioning, high performing organisation which provides world class services to protect the public. This high-profile role requires an individual who is focused on developing DBS as a strategic leader in the Safeguarding arena.
