Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with an expanding business in Lowestoft in their search for a Payroll Manager who will take responsibility for processing over 2,400 staff and being supported by an offshore processing team. This is an excellent opportunity to review processes & systems as well being involved in new acquisitions.
Your new role
In this Payroll Manager's job, you will take the lead on processing the end-to-end payroll for circa 2,400 staff across multiple payrolls, as well as being supported by an offshore processing team who will process all new starters, leavers, and uploading hours from timesheets etc. giving you time focus on the checking the data prior to payment. As the sole payroll specialist in the business, you will check salary calculations, deductions as well as ensure the processes arepliant to UK payroll laws.
You will also work closely with the wider finance team regarding producing payroll-related reports, analysing payroll costs etc. As explained, the business is expanding and, due to the nature of their business model, they have multiple payrolls and various legal entities, so accurate coding is essential.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced payroll specialist who is looking to step into a Payroll Manager's role and willing to undertake the challenge of processing multiple payrolls, as well as contributing to reviewing the processes as the business grows. It will be expected you will be aware of UK payroll legislation and able to work in a fast-paced payroll department. You will also play an active role in ensuring the offshore processing team achieve their KPI's regarding processing payroll data to deadlines etc.
Ideally, you will be CIPP qualified or have a similar qualification in payroll. However, we will also consider payroll specialists who are qualified by experience who can demonstrate the skills required to support the business in the smooth running of their payroll.
What you'll get in return
The business offers apetitive salary between £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on your experience), 25 days' holiday plus the Bank Holidays, pension and other flexible benefits. This role is based in Lowestoft, working 5 days onsite.
