An integral part of our success is our Bids Team who are responsible for managing the bidding and tendering process across our Sales Divisions, ensuring alignment with customers’ current and future business and technical requirements. We are now very excited to grow that team further by hiring a new Bid Manager who will focus on organising and coordinating all aspects of bid production to deliver compelling bids and proposals that drive new business acquisition and retention. What will you be doing? Bid Production: you will oversee the written and editorial aspects of the entire bid and proposal development process, this includes communicating requirements, deadline and expectations to key stakeholders and maintaining the bid library and tracker. You will be responsible for rewriting and editing proposal responses and ensuring drafts meet high standards of readability, clarity, and accuracy. Commercial Analysis: you will be responsible for conducting post-submission bid analysis where you can identify areas for improvement as well as applying strong commercial understanding, P&L management, and risk management throughout the bid process. Relationship Building: you will be expected to foster strategic partnerships with vendors as well as build long-term relationships with key customers to ensure a positive long-lasting collaboration. The right person for this role will already have experience managing and delivering bid proposals although this doesn’t need to be in IT/ tech – we are happy to see people from any industry. What’s important is the environment. At Phoenix you will be working on up to five bid proposals each week and during the interview process we will be looking for examples of where you have had juggle a similar workload. If you find yourself working on just one large bid proposal each year, then this may not be the job for you. Key Skills: Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical staff at all levels, bid teams, marketing, communications, and external partners. Exceptional copy-editing skills with attention to grammar, spelling, punctuation, and the ability to adhere to house style and standards. Excellent prioritisation skills, ensuring tasks are aligned with their importance and business needs. Strong multi-tasking skills with the capacity to manage diverse projects in a service-oriented environment. Solid commercial acumen, with a thorough understanding of P&L and risk management.
