Role: Nursery Deputy Manager - 12 month position
A nursery based in Leeds is seeking a dynamic and motivated Nursery Deputy Manager to lead their team and ensure the highest standards of care and education for our children. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. You will be working full time, Monday to Friday 40 hours per week on varying shift patterns. The nursery is open 7am-6pm. The role is office based and the successful candidate will be experienced in supporting room-based staff in developing and enhancing practices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the nursery team to deliver outstanding care and education.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
3. To effectively lead and manage the staff team including recruitment and retention, supervisions, performance management etc
4. Providing day to day guidance, training and support to all staff.
5. To effectively assist in managing occupancy levels, day to day costs, and finance reporting.
6. To support HR matters and provision of payroll information.
7. To support and deliver regular staff meetings and training days.
8. Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards.
9. Oversee curriculum planning and ensure a stimulating learning environment.
10. Manage budgets and resources efficiently.
11. Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.
12. Conduct regular staff appraisals and support professional development.
13. Monitor and evaluate the quality of provision, making improvements as necessary.
14. Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children and staff.
Requirements:
15. Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (Level 5 or higher preferred).
16. 3 years proven experience in a managerial role within an early years setting.
17. Strong leadership and team management skills.
18. Business management experience.
19. Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
20. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
21. Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
22. Passionate about providing high-quality early years education and care.
23. Possession of an Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
24. Competent in use of Microsoft packages
25. Experience with Nursery software advantageous
