The recruitment co are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner on a permanent basis to work in a family run company based in Peterlee.
Monday to Friday – 40 hrs flexible between 7am and 6pm.
Office Based
£30,000 per annum
Experienced Transport Planner
To help manage the day to day running of the Company’s Transport Operations, ensure that Vehicles are roadworthy and that Drivers comply with traffic and drivers’ hours rules.
To effectively and continuously help manage the transport activities required under the company’s Operators Licence safely and compliantly.
Job Requirements:
1. Be self-motivated and able to work independently
2. Be able to prioritize tasks and complete them efficiently
3. Be able to communicate effectively with customers and internal team members
4. Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
Responsibilities:
5. Make arrangements to ensure that vehicles are not overloaded and that all loads are strapped and secure.
6. Assist in meeting budget expectations.
7. Manage drivers times and ensure correct routes are taken. Monitor using tracking system.
8. Maintain and manage accurate administrative records including the TOPS system and traffic boards.
9. Develop existing and new customer relationships.
10. Provide proactive support to other departments when needed.
11. Make sure loads reach their destination safely, on time and in the most cost effective way.
12. Work with customers and suppliers planning routes and scheduling delivery times.
13. Day to day management of a team of administration staff and drivers.
14. Route drivers and vehicles to ensure load maximisation at all times.
