Step Up Step Down Project Worker, Powys
Job description
Step Up Step Down Project Worker, Powys
We are excited to be recruiting a Project Worker to lead our innovative Step Up Step Down programme in Wales.
About The Fostering Network
The Fostering Network (TFN) is the UK’s leading fostering charity. TFN provides membership services, including advice, guidance, and support to almost 59000 individual foster carers and more than 450 fostering service providers across the UK.
About the role
Step Up Step Down is a pioneering approach to supporting families on the edge of care, demonstrating a reduction in the numbers of children coming into care, and improved outcomes for children and families. At its heart are specialist, highly trained family support foster carers, who provide time limited, preventative support to up to four families at any one time. We are pleased to be working with Powys County Council as one of two hosting authorities for this innovative programme.
Based in Powys and working closing with the local authority team, the Project Worker will be the main point of contact for implementation and delivery of Step Up Step Down.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives, experiences and outcomes for children and young people. We need you to have experience of working alongside families, as you will be providing information and support to both families and foster carers. As well as delivering training to parents, the Project Worker will lead groups and activities for children and young people, building relationships and engaging with community support services. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work within a trauma informed setting, with a solution focused approach.
This role will involve day to day work directly with families and services within Powys and so the successful candidate will need to be located within the authority or within a reasonable travel distance.
As an organisation we are committed to supporting flexible working. This post is advertised as full-time but we are open to applications from individuals who would like to work as part of a job-share arrangement. Please indicate on your application if you would like to be considered as part of a job share arrangement.
