Job Purpose:
The Senior Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and market success for our brands. With a focus on innovation and customer-centric strategies, the incumbent will lead the development and execution of commercial plans, fostering strong relationships both internally and with customers. This role demands an entrepreneurial attitude, innovative thinking, and a commitment to delivering results.
Responsibilities:
1. Drive revenue and profit growth through effective execution of Brand strategy.
2. Foster relationships with customers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
3. Understand customer business strategies and growth drivers and develop winning Joint Business plans aligned to customer strategic imperatives.
4. Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, consumer behaviour, and emerging opportunities. Provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
5. Ensure innovation plans are landed successfully.
6. Collaborate with the marketing team to align commercial strategies with brand marketing efforts, ensuring a cohesive and impactful market presence.
7. Support the management team in defining budgets, targets and growth driven strategies.
8. Identify and execute business opportunities to increase brand visibility and presence.
9. Negotiate cost price changes, range, distribution, shelf positioning, promotional activities etc. to build the brand within the customer portfolio.
10. Formulating customer specific plans/strategies in line with accountable budgets, costing, packaging and retail prices.
11. Management of Own Label contracts as appropriate, including securing new business, maintaining current business and managing the P&L in a commodity driven environment.
12. Create and maintain demand forecast at volume, value and profit level along with the demand planning team.
13. Collaborating with supply chain team to build effective customer service and fulfilment to each retailer.
14. To understand the pulse of the market and industry. Monitor competitor activity and adjust forward plans to ensure brand growth.
15. Any other reasonable duties, responsibility or requests that may be issued by management from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
16. Previous experience managing major retailers/multiples within the FMCG at a senior level.
17. Experience of growing branded business in a high pace environment.
18. Proven track record of working to KPI’s and achieving targets.
19. Proficient in commercial analysis and data interpretation to inform strategic decision-making.
20. Adept at cultivating and managing relationships across all levels of the organisation and with external customers.
21. Proven expertise in influencing and negotiation, capable of driving successful outcomes in diverse business scenarios.
22. Pro-active starter and finisher.
23. Hours to do the role, which will vary according to business priorities.
24. Be willing and able to undertake regular national travel as required to manage the customer relationship.
25. Full, clean driving licence.
26. Must be enthusiastic, resilient, tenacious, and persuasive with excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
