We are on the search for a detail-orientated operatorwith a strong background in digital printing. This is an opportunity to join oneof the largest digital printing companies in the continent. Continually pushingthe boundaries of print technology, they need a strong multi-tasker who has experienceworking in a fast-paced print production environment and working to tightdeadlines.
Key roles and responsibilities:
· Ensure each job is signed off as correct before full production commences and signed off as complete at the end.
· Confirmall jobs have first off approvals either full-scale or mini proofs.
· Internally source material for each job and set up the machinecorrectly.
· Completion of print jobs in line withthe production plan and successful interpretation of job cards/workinstructions to customer specifications.
· Operatethe IDC and rip jobs to the print machine.
· Completion of production paperwork i.e handover sheets/count sheets.
· Identification and resolution of machine troubleshooting.
· Uponcompletion of jobs, transport to the finishing team with the associatedpaperwork.
· Reportany deviations relating to the job card and/or materials to the DepartmentManager
· Supportthe whole team in the efficient running of the department.
· Ensurequality checks are completed as per Company process.
· Observeall print processes and inspect products to verify conformance tospecifications.
· Ensureall products, materials and waste are clearly labelled and identified.
· Reviewsystem paperwork such as job cards for information and any other instructions.provided such as spreadsheets for accurate and efficient production.
· Workalongside less experienced members of the team and provide on-jobtraining/coaching where necessary.
· Workalongside other functions within the production area as required in order toensure production output meets dispatch requirements.
· Maintaina clean and safe working environment in line with Health & Safetyguidelines
· Reportany breakdown, defects or rejections to the appropriate Manager.
· Ensurethat all waste is being disposed of in accordance with Company procedures andsystems.
· Reportany accidents, near misses or any instances where environmental procedures arebroken or ignored.
· Complywith Health & Safety, ISO, Safe Systems of Work standards and workplace.legislation, including ensuring that your work area is maintained in a clean,safe and tidy manner, that all equipment is used safely and according toinstructions, and that work is carried out to ensure no risk to yourself, otheremployees and visitors.
· Undertakeand participate in training as required by the Company.
· Performadditional reasonable duties as required by the business from time to time toensure the effective and efficient running of the operations teams.
Skills & Requirements:
· Soliddigital printing background and experience.
· Experience working in a fast-paced production/print role.
· Strongteamwork and communication skills.
· Abilityto use own initiative and ‘think outside of the box’.
· Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
· Demonstrate personal time management and people skills.
· Usinglogic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
· Flexibility on start and finish times to match customer requirements andsudden changes in dispatch requirement.
· Abilityto work 12-hour shifts.
The current working pattern operates on a 12-hour shiftbasis over a four-week period (rotating including day and night shifts).
