Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 4:30pm. 3:30pm finish on a Friday

Job overview
Reporting to the Operations Director you will be responsible for setting the purchasing strategy across our different sites. You will be owning the stock system, bringing together locations and consumption, anticipating requirements and purchasing, at the best balance of price and volume.
You will be working in a small purchasing team, alongside the Purchasing Coordinator, to ensure all orders from Production and Project Managers are processed and logged promptly on Smartsheet. You will manage inventory, track how it is used and adjust purchasing habits in accordance with apparent trends. You will build and manage new and existing supplier relationships to ensure that orders can be expediated and updated as required. This will include, but not limited to:
1. Communicating with the Operations Director and gaining approval for purchasing contracts with new vendors or on new supplies.
2. Collaborate with Project Managers and Production and ensure they are aware of progress.
3. Setting up a bench-marking system for suppliers and negotiating to make sure the company gets the best possible prices and terms, whilst maintaining strong supplier relationships.
4. Regular meetings with suppliers, maintaining a supplier performance log, ensuring regular reviews of supplier service and ensuring any issues or non-conformances are promptly brought to their attention and follow through until resolved satisfactorily. You will be reporting this up to the leadership team regularly, keeping them up to date with performance.
5. Maintaining a network of professional contacts in order to identify new opportunities for improved deals on orders.
