About the Role Park Lane Surgeryhas a fantastic opportunity for a receptionist to join our team on afull-time basis, for hours per week over 5 days. In this essential front-line role at the practice, receptionists help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed. The main responsibilities of the role include:
1. Greeting and directing all patients.
2. Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required.
3. Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
4. Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints.
5. Advising patients of practice procedures.
6. Registering new patients.
7. Answering the telephone, promptly.

8. Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
9. Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
10. Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
11. Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet".
12. Strong IT and administration skills.
13. Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
