You will work within the Statutory Compliance arm of the Directorate, with responsibility for the managing the Health Board’s Policy Management processes, the management and monitoring of audit/non-audit body reports to ensure regular updates and progress reporting, challenging where necessary, and other areas of statutory compliance.
You will develop ways to improve the knowledge/understanding relating to policy management and statutory compliance so that the principles can be applied successfully in practice, and play an active role in raising awareness around statutory compliance.
You will be instrumental in identifying and exploring opportunities for improvement, and help create a continuous improvement environment within the statutory compliance arena.
You will contribute to building a culture of good governance and compliance, empowering all to innovate and perform to high standards to ensure the safe and effective delivery of services.
Main duties of the job
Policy Management
Responsibility for the Health Board’s statutory duty relating to policies and written control documents, ensuring the Health Board is compliant with its legislative obligations, enabling employees to fulfil their roles safely and competently, and serve the people of North Wales.
Responsibility for ensuring that the Health Board is up to date on policy activity and that key stakeholders are engaged.
Compliance
Responsibility for the management of progress against recommendations made by audit/non-audit bodies.
Ensuring effective committee oversight on audit/non-audit reports by preparing regular updates on progress, providing clarity, focus, feedback, and a quality assurance function on whether actions taken are addressing the issues identified.
Responsibility for other areas of statutory compliance such as registers of Home Office Drug Licensing, Music Licensing and Legislative Compliance.
