The Candidate
An established and widely known Wealth Management firm servicing Investment Management needs to High New Worth Clients.
The Role
The successful Governance Manager / Company Secretary will support and advise the Wealth Management firms boards and investment committees, confidently minuting meetings and assisting with pack preparation as well as overseeing the Wealth Management firm’s Governance arrangements across the group, including data protection governance.
The Governance Manager / Company Secretary is to support the launch and delivery of governance initiatives and projects across the Wealth Management business.
The Governance Manager / Company Secretary is to lead the co-ordination of board committee meetings and the annual board and committee effectiveness reviews for the business, including setting agendas and overseeing board pack production to facilitate effective decision making.
The Governance Manager / Company Secretary is to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The Governance Manager / Company Secretary will lead the data protection governance framework as well as maintaining the ROPA, dealing with data breaches and data subject access requests all whilst providing guidance to the Wealth Management business.
The Governance Manager / Company Secretary will assist in statutory filings, the review and oversight of legal agreements and any other Ad-hoc duties required.
The Governance Manager will be proactive in developing their knowledge of the Wealth Management industry and the market, and will be open to undertake and record relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to develop knowledge and skills.
The Candidate
Ideally CGI qualified or another equivalent qualification (Chartered Governance Institute)
3 – 5 years relevant Governance experience - within Financial Services (ideally wealth management and investment management)
Company Secretary / Secretariat experience
Ability to develop the technical proficiency to fulfil the role
Proficient in Microsoft products
Experience in the financial services sector, good understanding of company law and FCA governance expectations
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail and Excellent written skills.
