You will be working for a high-profile localernment authority based in the Stanford Le Hope/Tilbury Area. The organisation provides a public service for millions of people in the country, and you will be contributing significantly to achieving their goals.
Your new role
You will be tasked with:
- Responsibility for implementation of biosecurity controls for Products of Non-Animal Origin (NAO's), fish and fishery products, illegal unregulated and unreported fish controls, organics and plastic and accountable for taking the decision on the oue of those controls.
- Supervise internal and external stakeholders operating at Border Control Posts.
- Enforce legislation aimed at preventing the importation of unfit food into the country
- Contribute to the management and implementation of the Port Health Quality Management System
- Enforcing legislation from existing bodies such as Departmental and Port Health Service Business Plans
- To develop new ideas and lead initiatives for the Port Health legislation such as waste disposal from ships and port areas
What you'll need to succeed
- A bachelors degree in any subject
- Extensive knowledge of relevant national or international legislation, guidance and good industry practice
- A thorough understanding of food and feed controls
- Experience of drafting and serving enforcement notices and rmending legal proceedings
- Excellent written and oralmunication to allow effectivemunication with a variety of stakeholders
- Possess good IT skills and ability to use and apply knowledge of IT systems effectively.
