Drax are pleased to offer to market the rare opportunity to join our Wholesale Market Compliance (WMC) team in a highly specialised role.
About the role:
As a Compliance Analyst, you’ll facilitate compliance advisory and assurance activities across the group’s trading and generation operations. Supporting the Senior Compliance Manager and the wider WMC team, you’ll deliver physical and financial regulatory compliance across the group.
Your negotiating, influencing, and communicating skills will be key. Working collaboratively with commercial teams, building trust, confidence and respect whilst challenging the status quo. Continually managing and improving policies, processes, systems, and capabilities in line with the latest regulations, you’ll perform BAU activities and provide compliance guidance to trading, commercial and strategy colleagues in relation to current and forthcoming regulatory development activities.
You’ll use your understanding of energy/financial wholesale markets to develop knowledge in the regulated risks associated with Energy Market regulatory framework including REMIT, MAR, MiFID II, EMIR, TCLC, IOLC, S&P and FSMA/RAO.
Who we’re looking for:
You’ll ideally be educated to degree level with a basic understanding of wholesale physical and financial markets and prior experience working with commercial teams (including 24hr trading functions).
In a varying, fast-paced and dynamic environment, you’ll be involved in investigations, including large volumes of data gathering, complex analysis, conducting interviews and developing/presenting conclusions and recommendations to management. You’ll be constructive in your approach, lead by example and have a strong moral compass.
