Description:
Looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager who wants to jump in head-first and help scale a mission-driven company experiencing rapid growth in delivery of Hyperscale Data Centres.
This role sits in the Project Controls team charged with predicting, tracking and managing cost and schedules on our Hyperscale Data Centre delivery programme across EMEA.
You will be responsible for all projects.
Project controls are the processes for gathering and analysing project data to keep costs and schedules on track. The functions of project controls will include initiating, planning, monitoring and controlling, communicating, and closing out project costs and schedule. Ultimately, project controls are evolutionary processes for measuring project status, forecasting likely outcomes based on those measurements and then improving project performance if those projected outcomes are unacceptable.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage risk management protocol which includes identification, documentation, mitigation and tracking of potential risks on the project. In addition, determine potential cost impacts of potential risks as they are identified.
Identify and communicate design changes, scope changes and potential impacts and participate in the identification of mitigations. Ensure trends of costs are identified, manage change management process and communicate and suggest corrective actions.
Feed information into reporting dashboards to communicate cost performance to teams in real time. Maintain a standardized suite of cost reports that enable senior management to make data driven decisions.
Mange the external cost consultants who are responsible for agreeing cost and budgets, reviewing commercial tender returns, making recommendations for placement of orders, valuing works complete, assessing contractor payment entitlement, undertaking monthly cashflows and cost value reconciliations.
Attend cost meetings, manage and liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions
Desired Skills and Experience
Proficient and key experience of successfully delivering construction Projects.
Good knowledge of International best practice for health and safety.
Expert in Cost Management/Project Controls.
Technical knowledge of construction, mechanical and electrical services.
An understanding of the technical, procedural, contractual, and commercial aspects of project delivery.
Ability to provide high quality and accurate reports.
Experience and understanding of procuring supply and construction contracts.
Experience of working with local and remotely based collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to travel to our construction sites when required.
Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, etc).
Methodical and highly organised
English speaking – Native or fluent
Effective communication skills
Academic qualifications in a relevant construction or engineering discipline.
Have 8+ years Cost Management/Project Controls experience.
Professional qualification e.g. Construction related, chartered engineer or similar.
