Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, machinery, and infrastructure as assigned by the Plant Engineer.
Key Job Responsibilities:
1. Effectively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to identify issues and take necessary corrective actions.
2. Inspect machinery, lubricate and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
3. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment and ensure good operating condition while optimizing equipment uptime and ensuring the safe and timely manufacturing of products.
4. Document preventative maintenance and repairs in equipment maintenance logs as per maintenance department requirements.
5. Perform facility maintenance as needed.
6. Participate in the installation of new equipment and physical structures as needed.
7. Operate shop equipment and tools as skill level will permit.
8. Ability to work overtime on nights and weekends as needed for the efficient operation of equipment of the facility or when emergencies arise.
9. Support site housekeeping, safety programs, or other related tasks and duties as assigned.
10. Obtain forklift, lift truck, and scissor lift certifications within 90 days of employment.
11. Follow proper safety rules and regulations throughout the facility using OSHA best practices.
12. 10-15% travel required.
Requirements
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
2. Technical school certificate in mechanical, electrical systems, or hydraulics a plus.
3. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
4. Experience with plastic or silicone processing equipment.
5. Experience with building automation system (BAS).
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
7. Self-motivated, does not need constant supervision.
8. Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with management as well as other team members.
9. Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.
10. Knowledge and understanding of three-phase and single-phase power systems, electrical wiring, and control circuitry.
11. Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
