Mechanical Technician - Power Station
Circa £50,000 + Benefits & Bonus (Monday to Friday)
Location: Slough
We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join the Maintenance department of a Newly Commissioned Power Station in Slough.
Alecto Recruitment is keen to hear from Apprentice trained Mechanical Engineers, Technicians, and Fitters with experience working in heavy engineering sectors including power stations, water/wastewater, aggregates processing, and petrochemical to name a few examples.
You will be providing front line maintenance at the facility and be responsible for all aspects of the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance on the mechanical equipment and systems on site.
Package Details:
Salary is £49,000 Per Annum.
This role is worked on a Monday to Friday basis.
This role will include a Bonus structure, Private Medical, Income Protection, and more.
This opportunity comes with a vast amount of training and high possibility of Overtime.
Role & Responsibilities:
Your duties as a Mechanical Technician will include reporting to the Maintenance Manager and you will be responsible for:
1. Undertaking and supporting the daily planned maintenance activities.
2. Completing fault finding, diagnosis, and repairs of the plant which include gearboxes, valves, compressors, pumps, fans, boilers, etc.
3. Undertaking measures to improve the plant reliability, efficiency, and performance of the plant proactively, always in a safe and efficient manner.
4. Maintaining the site CMMS and recording all historical works undertaken.
5. Supervising 3rd party subcontracts on all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
6. Completing health and safety paperwork following company guidelines.
7. Providing technical support to the fuel handling and operations team for the plant when required.
Requirements:
A relevant technical qualification such as a City & Guilds Level 3/Apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
At least 3 years' experience in a Maintenance environment on a Power Station/Heavy Process Plant. This could be Energy from Waste, Coal, CCGT, Biomass, CHP, Nuclear, Petrochemical, etc.
Royal Navy Marine Engineers with at least five years' service will also be considered.
Ideally an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
Experience on heavy mechanical equipment such as Conveyors, Valves, Gearboxes, Pumps, Steam Raising equipment, etc.
