We are once again partnering exclusively with a long standing client of ours to help them find a new Head of Procurement for one of their key clients in an outsourced agreement. If you’ve got a background in strategic public sector procurement, a strong ability to build excellent, influential relationships with stakeholders across all functions of a business and the appetite to take the lead on a complete re-build of a procurement function then this should be right up your street.
What’s on offer?
* Base salary of £60,000 to £68,000

* Hybrid working, 2 days on site to begin with, reducing to 1-2 after circa 6 months
What will you be doing?
Essentially you’ll be creating a procurement function from scratch – this organisation doesn’t currently have a formal procurement function and so you’ll need to define policies and procedures, lead strategic sourcing exercises and review existing contract terms and, critically, change the business culture when it comes to the way goods and services are procured, working closely with key stakeholders to educate and inform on procurement best practice. There is a real opportunity to drive significant savings and increase value across the entire business, both on the direct and indirect side of procurement. You’ll have a small team so will need to be comfortable not only defining the procurement strategy but also playing a lead role in executing it.
Who will you be doing it for?
You’ll be joining a well established, successful private sector consultancy (on a permanent contract) and will immediately take up post as the Head of Procurement in one of their key clients based in Norwich, initially for a period of 2 years with the option to extended for a further two. The consultancy you’ll be working for are an established provider of frameworks and procurement services to a range of public sector organisations and have a great reputation in the industry, as well as a proven track record of developing their people, both through coaching and industry recognised training qualifications.
What do you need to bring to the table?
To be successful in this role it’s expected that you’ll be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experiences:
* Proven experience of leading strategic procurement activity in a regulated environment using PCR2015/FTS/OJEU
* A highly engaging personality and proven ability to build strong, influential relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of an organisation
* Proven background successfully delivering in a customer-focused business resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction
* Demonstrable experience managing and undertaking high-value, high risk or strategically important public or private sector procurement projects
* Natural, motivational leader with strong interpersonal skills and experience in developing teams
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering savings, improved efficiencies and successful negotiations and partnerships
