The Role
To lead and maximise the safe, efficient and effective operation of production within the mill environment, placing s strong emphasis on driving a safety-conscious culture, coaching the team with a positive approach.
This role will suit someone with strong man management skills and a positive approach, able to challenge the status quo and implement route cause corrective action.
Responsibilities
1. Day to Day Management and Safe Operation of the Manufacturing Plant.
2. Driving throughput measures and ensuring all reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
3. Ensure compliance with all legal, HR, Health, safety and Environmental standards.
4. To maintain and report against agreed departmental performance measures in line with the agreed targets (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People).
5. Actively challenge trends in performance (above KPIs) and initiate route cause corrective action plans with Operations management.
6. Ensure that all sage updates (live stock movements), are completed to support traceability of stock onsite.
7. To ensure that timekeeping and discipline are maintained within the team.
8. To ensure products meet quality standards.
9. Support the Fulfilment Manager in ensuring the Preventative Maintenance protocols are completed in line with the PPM schedules (monitor and report deviations).
10. Ensure all start of shift checks are completed in line with operating guidelines and any deviations reported / escalated.
11. Ensure the effective execution of production schedules, optimising head count based on the plan.
12. Effectively communicate the production schedule to all team members.
13. Complete weekly checks on Mill stock (stock counts).
14. Ensure any damage, maintenance and repair tasks are logged and reported immediately.
15. Maintain mandatory training qualifications for new and existing operators to support the smooth running of the area (monitor and update skills matrix).
16. Lead by example in following safety requirements, e.g., the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment.
Requirements
17. Experience of a similar role from within a manufacturing environment.
18. Strong man manager and leadership skills.
19. Competent use of all Microsoft Office programs.
20. Excellent understanding of health and safety requirements and legislation.
21. Compile, analyse and communicate data confidently.
22. Able to lead manage and develop a team.
23. A proactive, self-motivated individual with meticulous attention to detail.
24. Can demonstrate previous examples of key roles and responsibilities.
25. Comfortable communicating at all levels.
Based in Bewdley, Worcestershire.
Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm.
Salary Circa £33k.
