Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and deliver high-quality assistance to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others.
Essential
* Worked in the UK hospital, care or nursing home settings for at least 2 years
* Enhanced DBS
* Relevant vaccinations
Responsibilities
* Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
* Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
* Maintain accurate records of patient progress and any changes in their condition.
* Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes efficiently.
* Foster a warm and supportive environment that promotes the dignity and respect of all individuals in care.
Experience
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
* Strong communication skills in English are required to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
* A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of diverse patient populations is essential.
* Familiarity with basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication is advantageous.
* A valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting patients as needed.
