Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Opportunity in Levenshulme
Teaching Personnel is looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting in December and lasting through the academic year, with a chance to become a permanent role based on performance. Weekly pay is between £419.25 and £500.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to provide both academic and pastoral support to students across a range of subjects. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education, with responsibilities that cover classroom support, individual and group tutoring, and wider school involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* In-Class Support: Assist teachers in delivering lessons by working with small groups or individual students, ensuring they fully engage with lesson content and providing additional explanations when needed.
* Academic Tutoring: Provide targeted tutoring support to students in need, whether they require help in catching up or are aiming to achieve higher grades. Focus areas may include core subjects like English, Maths, and Science.
* Learning Support for SEN Students: Work alongside the school’s SEN team to provide specific support to students with additional needs, helping to adapt resources, offer personalized guidance, and create an inclusive learning environment.
* Behavioural and Pastoral Support: Engage with students to build strong, positive relationships, supporting them both academically and emotionally. Assist with behaviour management, promoting a respectful and supportive classroom atmosphere.
* Student Progress Monitoring: Track and record student progress, offering insights to teachers on areas where students excel and where they may need further assistance.
* Preparation and Organization: Help with lesson preparation, classroom resources, and setting up activities, supporting teachers to ensure smooth and effective lesson delivery.
* Encouraging Student Engagement: Motivate students to participate actively in their learning, encouraging resilience, curiosity, and a positive attitude toward school.
* Administrative and General Support: Assist with administrative tasks as required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the school environment and ensuring that all students have access to well-prepared, dynamic lessons.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Graduate Background: Degree in any subject is welcomed, though experience in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, or Science is particularly relevant.
