Premier Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated Duty Manager for Primary School Children's Wrap-Around Care.
There are 3 posts available. Schools based in Exeter, Tiverton and Cullompton.
This key role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of wrap-around care services, ensuring a safe, enriching environment for primary school children outside regular school hours. The successful candidate will be a natural leader with a passion for child development and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
1. Program Management:
2. Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of wrap-around care programs for primary school children
3. Ensure activities align with Premier Education's values, educational standards, and the well-being of children
4. Staff Supervision:
5. Lead and supervise a team of wrap-around care staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
6. Conduct regular team meetings to foster communication and collaboration among staff members
7. Health and Safety / Safeguarding:
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and establish protocols for emergency situations
9. Conduct regular safety audits and address any concerns promptly
10. Undertake dedicated safeguarding qualifications to act as Designated Safeguarding Lead at the venue and attend regular training to keep this qualification relevant and up-to-date
11. Undertake Food Hygiene L2 qualification to ensure food is served safely and under current guidance.
12. Communication:
13. Maintain clear and open communication channels with parents, school staff, and the Premier Education management team
14. Provide updates on children's activities, achievements, and any relevant information to parents.
15. Behaviour Management:
16. Implement positive behaviour management strategies to create a respectful and positive environment.
17. Address and document behavioural concerns, collaborating with staff to find effective solutions.
18. Record Keeping:
19. Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and activities
20. Generate reports on children's progress and activities, contributing to the overall assessment of wrap-around care services
21. Training and Development:
22. Identify staff training needs and collaborate with the training department to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for the team
Qualifications:
23. Previous experience in a supervisory role within a childcare or educational setting is desired but not essential.
24. Strong leadership and organisational skills
25. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
26. Understanding of child development and best practices in childcare
