Job Opportunity: Commissioning Engineer

Salary: Up to £55,000 p/a plus package
A market-leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor in the water industry is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their team. This role involves overseeing function testing, process commissioning, and reliability testing of installed equipment on various contracts and product installations.
Key Responsibilities:
·Support and Testing: Test electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation installations by teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
·Health & Safety: Ensure adherence to required standards, policies, and statutory regulations for Health & Safety.
·Planning: Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans.
·Technical Meetings: Organize and attend technical meetings with client and contractor stakeholders.
·System Inspection: Inspect systems to ensure they meet relevant British, ISO, and client standards.
·Function Testing: Commission electrical installations, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and automation systems, ensuring compliance with system specifications and best practices.
·Sample Analysis: Facilitate the analysis of raw and treated samples.
·Reporting: Compile commissioning reports, method statements, and schedules.
·Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and legislation.
·Troubleshooting: Participate in troubleshooting functional or process performance issues.
·Communication: Maintain regular contact with the Project Manager, project engineers, client teams, and supply chain for smooth commissioning and handover processes.
·Documentation: Support and review Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
·Training: Train site operators on the use of installed equipment and systems.
·Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required, consistent with the job-holder's knowledge and skills.
Key Skills & Experience:
·Qualifications: Degree, HND, HNC, or equivalent in engineering, science, or a similar field.
·Experience: Minimum of four years' postgraduate experience in a similar role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
·Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in industrial/commercial electrical and ICA design, assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning, ideally in the water sector.
·Electrical Systems: Experience with Low Voltage (LV) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including conditioning, conversion, interpretation, digital I/O, relay control logic, and instrumentation.
·Certifications: Electrically qualified to a minimum of 18th Edition, C&G 2391 Inspection & Test, and ideally hold a current JIB Gold Card.
·Competency: Experience as an NIC-EIC Competent Person is an advantage.
·Communication: Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
·Industry Experience: Experience within the UK water industry is highly desirable.
·Flexibility: Willingness to be based at the work site, with regular regional and nationwide travel (including overnight stays) as required.
·Driving Licence: Full driving licence; any existing endorsements must be declared in the application.
