Our WQ and E (Water Quality and Environment) team have an opportunity for people to join as one of our new EDM Reporting Advisors.
As one of the subject matter experts within the team you will be expected to take the lead in key areas, ensuring company level compliance to dynamic external reporting demands. The role holder will be required to understand and interpret complex regulatory frameworks, helping to translate them into actionable guidelines ready for practical application by operational teams.
You will also be expected to be part of a continuous improvement culture always seeking ways to improve our reporting and compliance standards. We are looking for the candidate to have a strong background in regulatory reporting ideally working with large complex datasets and identifying anomalies & risks to compliance at pace.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
1. Driving gold standard company level compliance throughout the year adapting to both internal and external demands at pace
2. Ensuring we have effective processes and procedures in place to consistently deliver compliance and a strong audit trail for a high quality year end annual return
3. Working with large datasets from a variety of sources to diagnose issues, identify trends highlight risks to compliance upwards
4. Taking ownership for small improvement opportunities including understanding the size of that opportunity, liaising with key stakeholders, securing buy in and if relevant, implementing these improvements within the team and wider business
5. Analysing, understanding and interpreting complex regulatory frameworks, translating them into actionable guidelines for operational teams
6. Driving adherence to those operational processes and guidelines through exception reporting and influencing senior stakeholders and front line teams
7. Working alongside wider business teams to develop, improve and adapt the relevant compliance dashboards to meet ever changing demands and needs
8. Acting as the subject matter expert for all elements of EDM reporting and compliance to permit conditions
9. Understanding and driving opportunities for improvements in both our EPA measures and the Storm Overflow ODI
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re seeking our EDM reporting advisor to have experience of external assurance and regulatory reporting as well asdelivering improvement opportunities from insight toimplementation You will be skilled at dealing with stakeholders at a variety of levels which includes working collaboratively across teams and directorates to achieve outcomes.
To be successful, it’s expected that you’ll be able to translate complex technical and regulatory information and communicate this tooperational front line teams and senior stakeholders.
Ideally you’ll have good technical knowledge of waste processes (networks and/or waste water recycling).
As well as this you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, s good analytical and diagnostic skills and exceptional attention to detail.
As travel may be required, you’ll also need to hold a full UK driving licence.
