Job Title: HIL Test Engineer
Location: Leicestershire, UK
Salary: Competitive, based on experience (Range: £35,000 - £55,000 per annum)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HIL Test Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and testing systems integral to high-performance automotive solutions. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of embedded systems. You will work closely with both hardware and software teams to validate complex systems, contribute to test strategy development, and troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise throughout the testing process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute HIL test plans for embedded systems in automotive applications.
* Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to define test requirements and ensure system-level validation.
* Set up and configure HIL test benches and ensure they are fully operational.
* Conduct detailed analysis of test results and provide comprehensive reports outlining findings and recommendations.
* Identify and resolve issues within the system or test setup during the testing phase.
* Maintain and update testing procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
* Support the integration of HIL testing into the overall product development lifecycle.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in testing.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
* Proven experience in HIL testing, particularly in the automotive or embedded systems sector.
* Strong knowledge of HIL testing tools, such as dSPACE, National Instruments, or similar platforms.
* Experience with embedded systems, control systems, and vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
* Familiarity with test automation tools and scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
* Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to document and present findings clearly.
* Knowledge of automotive software development processes, including AUTOSAR, is advantageous.
* A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
