Are you a Senior Legal Professional with expertise in Pensions and Commercial law? Lancashire County Council is seeking a Principal Commercial Lawyer to join our Legal services team and lead on Pensions matters.

As one of Lancashire County Council's senior legal professionals, the Principal Commercial Lawyer will provide technical and strategic guidance relating to complex pensions matters.
You will:
1. Lead on the interpretation and communication of policy, legislation and codes of practice relating to pension and commercial matters.
2. Facilitate management decision making and influence senior stakeholders to deliver an effective service.
3. Collaborate and influence with senior stakeholders including the Head of Fund and Strategic Commercial Lawyers.
4. Represent the views the Council and Pension Fund in governance discussions developing effective relationships with other pensions pools.
5. Exercise a large degree of independent responsibility and ensure professional and effective service delivery.

About You:
6. Significant experience in a senior technical advisory role within a large and complex organisation alongside relevant professional qualifications.
7. Specialist knowledge of the applications and principles of Pensions and Commercial law.
8. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. The ability to act autonomously and implement management decisions to deliver objectives.
All successful applicants will need to have been admitted as a Solicitor or called to the Bar or be a Chartered Legal Executive.
