Radar was a critical factor in the success of Britain's air defences during World War II. The Royal Air Force used radar to detect and locate enemy aircraft, which gave them vital time to prepare for and intercept attacks. Even in todays world, albeit much more advanced, radar systems are still critical in the defence of our modern day living.
SoCode Engineering have partnered with a Cambridge based manufacturer who are developing cutting edge radar systems. They are in need of a Mechanical Design Engineer/ CAD Technician to support the engineering department in developing, producing, and updating mechanical designs for advanced radar systems. You’ll work on a variety of projects, from complete system assemblies to precision-engineered components, including test jigs and support items. Collaborating closely with engineers and production teams, you’ll create detailed technical drawings and ensure designs meet high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical designs.
Generate and manage mechanical and assembly Bills of Materials (BoMs).
Work with engineers and production staff to amend and optimize designs.
Create manufacturing-ready product drawings.
Maintain models and drawings in the company’s PLM system.
What do they need? SolidWorks.
And some nice to haves:
Experience designing mechanical components for advanced electronic systems.
