Requirements
12. Degree/diploma in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent is essential
13. Minimum 2 years post registration experience in similar role
14. Current professional membership required
15. Postgraduate training and /or experience in relevant courses
16. Candidates must be Dysphagia trained
17. Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this work
18. Up to date Immunisation records to complete a full occupational health review
19. Ability to build rapport with ease
20. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
21. Effective time management and prioritisation skills
22. Ability to work in fast paced user-centric environment
Responsibilities
23. Prioritise, assess and manage own patient caseload
24. Provide a high level of expertise in the promotion and development of patient's speech, language and communication skills
25. Make onward referrals to other professionals as required
26. Assist in the planning, design and implementation of innovative and evidenced based ways of working with service users/carers
27. Assist in the planning, design and evaluation of training and therapy programmes, ensuring regular updating to reflect current clinical practice
28. Prepare/present appropriate specialist professional reports
29. Communicate effectively with patients and ensure there is solid understanding of their condition and ongoing treatment plan
30. Promote and support effective team working, fostering a culture of openness and transparency
31. Support the service's leadership team as required
32. Maintain a high level of safety to ensure all service users are kept safe
