We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Residential College for Younger Adults with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role is crucial in preparing them for adult life and supporting their transition into further education, employment, or training.
Key Responsibilities:
9. Collaborate with teaching staff to support learning, providing additional explanations when necessary.
10. Ensure the safety and welfare of young people, maintaining a high standard of safeguarding at all times.
11. Assist young people in setting and achieving their Education and Healthcare plan targets.
12. Promote positive behaviour throughout the school, adapting responses to meet individual needs.
13. Accurately document all accidents, incidents, or health & safety issues in accordance with school policies.
14. Facilitate participation in group activities, respecting choices and encouraging social interactions and friendships.
Essential Criteria:
15. Level 3 Diploma or equivalent for Children or Adults.
16. Experience working with Younger Adults aged 16 - 25 years old.
17. Ideal experience within an Educational Special Needs setting.
18. Understanding of Safeguarding principles & Deprivation of Liberties.
19. Experience managing challenging behaviours.
20. Ability to engage students in positive, enabling relationships.
