A successful child support worker will responsible for:
10. Proficiency in clear and legible writing for effective report and documentation comprehension.
11. Willingness to engage in recreational activities with young residents and foster their interests in new hobbies.
12. Dedication to completing the Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People in Residential Care within two years of joining.
13. Eagerness for personal development and a hunger for learning.
14. Basic IT skills.
15. Strong ability to engage positively with young individuals.
16. Empathy toward young people who have faced emotional and behavioural challenges.
17. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, when interacting with diverse individuals, including Social Workers, parents, and external professionals
To be successful in your child support worker application, you will:
18. Have previous experience working in a care setting with young people in the UK
19. Have knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory and child protection policy
20. Be able to demonstrate how your lived experiences have informed your approach to care
21. Have experience advocating on behalf of a young person
22. Register under the PVG scheme
23. Full driving licence
24. Obtained SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
