We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Junior Designer to join our design team based in Maldon, Essex.
The Blues Group is a leading Apparel License supplier with 5 divisions: Dennicci, Blues Clothing, Blues Nightwear, Blues Dressing up, and Brecrest. We work with amazing licenses like Disney, Bluey, Peppa Pig & Peter Rabbit.
Job Description
This role reports to the Designer/Senior Designer and works closely with Design Manager, Design teams, merchandising teams, and production teams. Key responsibilities include:
* Staying updated on current fashion trends, materials, techniques, and analyzing competitor products.
* Conducting market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences.
* Sourcing fabrics, Pantones, trims, and embellishments for designs.
* Assisting in fitting sessions and making amendments to designs.
* Maintaining design development from initial meeting with the customer to ensure accurate placement of orders.
* Attending customer meetings where required.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Generating and maintaining a high standard of design within the customer brief.
2. Collaborating with designers to sketch initial design ideas.
3. Developing an in-depth knowledge of the customer base when creating designs.
4. Chasing samples from factories.
Administration Responsibilities
The Junior Designer will also be responsible for:
* Coordinating with designers and Account Manager to ensure price needs are met at the design stage.
* Responding to customer and factory queries.
* Supplying factories and customers with initial sample comments.
* Completing tech packs when required.
Communication Responsibilities
The successful candidate will need to:
* Communicate design ideas and concepts clearly through sketches and verbal explanations.
* Work closely with sales teams to understand customer feedback and preferences.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* 2 years experience in a Junior Designer role.
* Bachelor's degree in design or related field or relevant work experience.
* Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
