Location: Cambridge (hybrid)
Contract Type: 0.8 FTE for 12 months FTC
Salary Range: £68,863 - £79,800 FTE (£55,090.40 – 63,840 actual)
Working pattern: 30 hours per week Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work)
We are seeking an experienced senior leader to join to join a Research Centre for Climate. This role involves providing leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to the Centre team, managing relationships internally and externally, and transitioning the Centre into its next phase of development.
The Centre brings leading academic research and thought leadership to business and government leaders to drive climate action.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership and Vision: Set and refine the Centre’s strategic direction, develop and execute implementation plans, and support succession planning.
* Inspirational Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor the Centre’s team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
* Fundraising and Resource Mobilisation: Spearhead fundraising efforts, manage donor relationships, and secure sustainable funding.
* Financial Stewardship: Oversee financial planning and management, ensuring robust financial practices.
* Strategic Partnership Development: Establish and nurture partnerships with key University entities and external stakeholders.
* Community Integration and Engagement: Drive engagement with the Hughes Hall community and serve as a liaison.
* Advisory Group and Governance Management: Coordinate the activities of the Centre’s Oversight Committee and Advisory Group.
* Event Leadership and Representation: Lead and participate in high-profile events and networking opportunities.
Person Specification
* Passion for climate change science and policy
* Substantial executive-level experience
* Proven ability to influence senior individuals
* Fundraising experience
* Experience in climate change law, policy, or sustainability
* Strong leadership and management skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Strategic thinking and change management skills
