We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Plumber to support the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities. This is a rewarding opportunity where your expertise will directly contribute to creating safe and efficient environments for our patients and staff.
Salary: £20.34 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 08:00–16:30 Monday to Thursday, 08:00–16:00 Friday (plus on-call rotation as required)
What You’ll Do:
As a Plumber, you will:
* Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on mechanical systems, heating, and water plant equipment.
* Handle repairs, new installations, and planned maintenance with efficiency and precision.
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and complete scheduled tasks.
* Escort contractors during inspections and installations, ensuring compliance with Trust standards.
* Strictly adhere to Health & Safety and Security Regulations and maintain accurate tool inventories.
* Contribute to a dynamic team and support the department’s out-of-hours on-call system when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking someone who is highly skilled, motivated, and ready to make a difference. You’ll need:
* NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Services.
* Specialisation in mechanical services (e.g., Gas, Refrigeration, Heat Pumps).
* Water Safety Training certification.
Experience:
* Strong background in mechanical, ventilation, or gas installations and maintenance.
* Experience in an NHS or healthcare environment is a bonus but not essential.
Skills and Attributes:
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
* Flexible, adaptable, and confident interacting at all levels.
* Computer literacy to manage maintenance records effectively.
Other Requirements:
* Your own tools and PPE.
* A valid manual driving license.
* Availability to work across multiple London sites as needed.
