Network / Systems Engineer

Our client is a well-established, dynamic and highly profitable supplier of technology products and services to an impressive, international customer base.
They seek to appoint a new member to the Network Engineering Team - the role will be varied and will suit someone who likes to be busy, is able to multitask and who takes a pro-active approach to work. The new role will also provide the opportunity for development in the field of network engineering through various training courses such as CCNP and AWS networking.
Roles and Responsibilities
The role will be multi-disciplined and will consist of mainly network support but the chosen engineer will also need to assist with satellite configuration and maintenance. For the satellite role, the employer will provide off-site training as well as structured on-the-job training. A list of roles and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Maintain existing production networks.
2. Support IT manager with corporate network where needed.
3. Ensure deployed network equipment firmware is up to date by planning and scheduling firmware updates.
4. Maintain existing cloud based (AWS) network infrastructure.
5. Maintain bespoke SDWAN capabilities (Not Cisco).
6. Maintain and apply changes to Palo Alto firewalls.
7. Provide technical input on project meetings.
8. Production of technical documents and diagrams for projects.
9. Assist engineers with prestaging of LEO/GEO satellite terminals and air time plans.
Qualifications and Skill sets required
1. CCNA certified or equivalent skill set.
2. Understanding of Satellite systems such as Starlink.
3. Network monitoring using PRTG.
4. Proficient at creating IPSec configurations and associated routing.
5. Experience of firewall administration would be nice to have.
6. Proficient with MS Office and able to create detailed Visio diagrams.
7. Production of Low Level Design documentation.
8. Understanding of ITIL framework and understand change control.
