Job Description
As the Digital merchandising manager, you will be responsible for the merchandising curation strategy, across key touch points of the website. The role requires you to have a comprehensive understanding of digital visual/site merchandising, homepage, and campaign best practices. The position is responsible for helping to optimise the global onsite activities for the website across all devices, influencing the end-to-end customer journey, increasing conversion, and driving sales. This role would also support on the venture and marketplace strategy.
The role will be highly collaborative, with key stakeholders including, Studio, Design, Digital trading, buying, merchandising, and trade marketing
Ideally you will have strong buying, site merchandising or visual e-commerce experiences, with a good commercial understanding and an analytical skillset, to drive key business decisions. We are looking for someone who is highly entrepreneurial and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, where being agile is key.
The Digital Merchandising manager will manage the Digital Merchandising Specialists and Digital Merchandising Assistant and will report into the Digital Trading Lead.
1. Deliver effective visual merchandising strategies, to make it easier for customers to navigate and discover more relevant items, therefore enhancing discoverability and ensuring that customers spend less time searching and more time shopping, improving their overall experience.
2. Working closely with the design, studio & creative teams to deliver a visual merchandising approach that represents ASOS across all the key digital touch points
3. Creative strategic thinking: Mood boards, concept brainstorming, brand expression and storytelling
4. Creating consistency in our branding and customer end to end journeys, establishing a strong online presence.
5. Aligning more with our brand's identity and narrative, which will allow our customers to connect with the story behind the products.
6. Intentional curated customer journeys for touchpoints such as the homepage, social media, push notifications, email marketing and the ASOS media group.
7. Align with buying team on key products to feature through email, homepage and social – selecting product
8. Understand previous campaigns and consider local market trading moments, to inform a global holistic overview, to appreciate the performance of each piece of activity and based on this, make recommendations as to how to build on the results for the next iteration.
Qualifications
9. Previous experience within Digital Merchandising/buying, Site Merchandising or Digital Trading role at an agency or retailer
10. Be able to treat the ASOS website homepage, as you would a window display.
11. An in-depth understanding of data driven merchandising and curation
12. Previous analytical experience, preferably in either Adobe, GA or Content Square
13. A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work without guidance
14. The ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
15. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
16. Able to effectively prioritise workload
17. Experience trouble shooting and solving difficult and sometimes technical problems
18. Strong attention to detail, quality and accuracy imperative
19. A can-do attitude
