This is a great opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join the Older Adult Psychiatry Team in Salford.
This is a full - time appointment for a Specialty Doctor in psychiatry to work in the inpatient unit that supports older adult mental health needs in Woodlands Hospital. They will add senior medical support to the unit. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr M Javeed.
Main duties of the job
·The post holder will liaise with the other medical colleagues within the Salford area and support the inpatient team with clinical activity that covers meetings, CPAs, tribunals, and other Mental Health Act related activity.
·The inpatient multidisciplinary team comprising of RMNs, OTs, psychologists and be a conduit to support the patient and the patient’s family when they are reviewed regularly. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate sound mental health knowledge and support admission and ongoing care arrangements for the patients.
·The post holder will be expected to be a Section 12 Approved clinician. We will support the post holder to obtain S12 or AC approval if this is required.
·The post holder will liaise with the other medical colleagues within the Salford area and support the community team with clinical activity that covers meetings, CPAs, professionals’ meetings, and other Mental Health Act related activity.
·The post holder can support Memory clinics as part of his/her interest.
·The post holder will be expected to Diagnose and formulate management plans with supervision as required.
·Work in partnership with local GP
·Work in a collaborative way with multidisciplinary teams including external partners.
·Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others.

8. Full GMC Registration
9. 4 years full-time Postgraduate or equivalent experience.

10. Registered or be eligible to register for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
