VVB Engineering (UK) Ltd are a leading highways electrical contractor, working with local authorities and private clients across the UK. We are looking for a Highways Electrical Technician to join our team and deliver high-quality services to our customers.
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out installation, maintenance and repair of street lighting, traffic signals and other electrical equipment on highways and public roads
- Supervising 3rd party maintenance activities & maintenance closures
- Working safely and efficiently, following health and safety regulations and company policies
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring good communication and customer satisfaction
- Completing paperwork and records accurately and timely
- Working as part of a team and supporting other technicians as needed
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A relevant qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent (NVQ Level 3 or above)
- A valid ECS card and CSCS card
- A HERS Portfolio
- SMSTS Qualification
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience in highways electrical work or similar
- Good knowledge of electrical standards and regulations
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
This role is based in Cardiff, with travel required to project sites across the South West as needed to meet customer needs. There will also be opportunities for reactive on-call client support. You must be available to travel to various sites and offices as necessary.
