Our client, a leading company in the Oil & Gas sector, is currently seeking a Principal Pipeline Engineer to join their team in East Hampshire. This permanent role is an exciting opportunity to provide technical leadership within the Pipelines discipline on a variety of world-class projects. Our client is committed to supporting the energy transition from traditional business areas to decarbonised solutions such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and new sustainable technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform engineering design activities for onshore and offshore rigid pipelines in various project phases, from Concept Selection to Execution, including brownfield and greenfield projects.
Act as the Project Design Lead on large projects, overseeing a team of engineers and designers, and ensuring quality and alignment with project deliverables.
Supervise and review pipeline activities, including mechanical design, stress analysis, global buckling, crossing design, and more.
Support CAD Designers in the execution of layouts and project pipeline drawings.
Prepare datasheets and technical requisitions, compile ITT, and perform Bid Evaluations.
Validate pipeline inspection and maintenance strategies and define Emergency Pipeline Repair Service studies.
Check design and installation activities carried out by third parties.
Act as a technical specialist for pipeline design activities.
Collaborate with other departments such as Process, Material and Corrosion, Flow Assurance, Instrumentation, Civil, Construction, and Commissioning.
Ensure adherence to company HSEQ policies and stay updated on pipeline design standards and new legislations.
Undertake short-term visits to operating sites and regional offices worldwide to support project execution.
Job Requirements:
Experience in the Oil & Gas industry with respect to rigid offshore and onshore pipelines.
Proficiency in software such as DNVGL design suite (SESAM package, PET, AutoPipe, SAGE Profile, AGA).
Knowledge of additional software such as Ansys, ABAQUS, and Orcaflex is desirable.
Understanding of UK and international specifications and codes (BS, DNV, ISO, API, and ASME) is beneficial.
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills, and organisational abilities.
Motivated and capable of developing into a high-level technical expert.
Relevant Engineering degree in disciplines such as Pipeline Engineering, Subsea Pipeline Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
