Our client is currently seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This opportunity offers the chance to manage a varied case load, with an initial three-month contract and the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing development management applications from inception to completion
Conducting thorough reviews and assessments of planning applications
Engaging with stakeholders, including developers, architects, and local residents
Preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to committees
Ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies
Advising on planning policies and guidelines
Handling appeals and providing expert advice during planning inquiries
Collaborating with internal departments to achieve sustainable development goals
Job Requirements:
Experience in development management and town planning
Strong understanding of planning policies and regulations
Proficiency in handling a wide range of planning applications
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Relevant qualification in town planning or a related field
Membership of a professional planning body is advantageous
