At American Express digital is a core part of its business We have invested heavily in web development, UAT, UX and digital marketing. These areas will continue to be at the forefront of the unparalleled growth AMEX has seen over the past few years.
Performance marketing is one of AMEX’s key bets. With significant amount of investment going into this space. Paid search is a major part of this. Driving significant performance gains throughout the markets it operates in. Online advertising now forms the biggest proportion of our advertising spend as a business.
AMEX runs its paid search activation for all its international markets in house. With two hubs totalling 20+ people, in London and Singapore, responsible for tens of millions of dollars’ worth of activity.
The Team
The AMEX London paid search team is made up of highly skilled paid search specialists, having come from both internal and external backgrounds. The team sits within the wider performance marketing organisation with which we have regular contact. This includes other biddable channels, analytics, partner relations and the audience team.
You will be responsible for delivering critical Paid Search activation with a primary focus on acquisition. Acquisition represents a significant portion of marketing investment, and this team plays a significant part in delivering on revenue-driving business outcomes
A successful candidate will understand have a good working knowledge of Paid Search and ideally will have executed search campaigns across the financial sector. You will not only be responsible for the execution of this activity but advocacy and innovation of the channel across the organisation (supported by the team).
How will you make an impact in this role?
1. Own and supports other team members on multi-market PPC campaigns.
2. Manage Google and Microsoft Ads Paid Search campaigns for EMEA and LACC international markets against targets, maximizing net income delivered through the channel
3. Use Paid Search bid management software (Search Ads 360) to centrally manage campaigns for several markets and ensure that tracking is set up correctly
4. Work with other analysts and managers in the team, alongside the Performance Channel Analytics team to create and implement data-led strategies for the international markets that deliver against the marketing plans
5. Work on ad-hoc reporting, test and learn, plan strategies, and present them to internal stakeholders in the markets and other central teams
6. Support one of the four key ‘pillars’ that the team operate within (strategy, excellence, relations, test & learn)
7. Building and maintaining relationships with markets and supporting agencies
Minimum Qualfications:
8. Experience managing Paid Search campaigns in-house or agency-side
9. Passion and willingness to champion digital marketing within a large organisation
10. A self-starter who owns their role and can multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
11. Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills
12. Track record of delivery against goals
13. Experience of managing stakeholders in a matrix environment
14. Excellent oral and written communication skills including presenting to peers and senior management
15. 2nd European language is a plus
